LocalView User Guide...
LocalView allows you to view the location of council services (including a 'find your nearest' option), and access up-to-date information about local services such as schools, recycling sites, post offices and GP Surgeries. It also gives you access to aerial photography for the Tunbridge Wells borough.
LocalView lets you:
This facility allows users to search for an address or postcode using the council's Land and Property Gazetteer, and display the property's location on a map. See below for address search tips.
Once an address is selected, LocalView lists a number of location details, including Ward and Parish information, neighbourhood statistics (for example, population, health, employment and crime), tourist information and residents' parking zones. All planning applications relating to the selected address are listed, with links to the TWBC Public Access portal for full details.
If the user is interested in location details for an area without a postal address (for example, open countryside and woodland), the user can point and click on a map to indicate the location in which they are interested. The 'Location details' tab will be populated with information relevant to the specified location, and additionally, LocalView can then be used to extract further information in two ways: 'Find the nearest' and 'In the area'.
LocalView lists by distance all the nearest facilities (for example, council offices, schools and GP surgeries) to the location specified. Only one facility of each type (the nearest 'as the crow flies') is listed.
LocalView lists all the facilities of one type that fall within a specified distance of the location ('as the crow flies') for example, by showing all of the recycling centres within a radius of five kilometers of the specified location.
Using the chosen location the user can inform the council about a range of problems, including reporting graffiti, abandoned vehicles, missed bin collections and damaged street name plates.
The user can also use this facility to request services from the council, including placing orders for new wheelie bins / recycling containers and bulky waste collections.
View map layers
Planning applications and aerial photography map layers are not available for display at all map scales owing to their large file sizes. Both appear at the maximum 'zoom in' setting (1:1,250) using the scale slider bar to the left of the map.

Address search tips
Entering all parts of an address may reduce your chances of finding the property you require at the first attempt. It is recommended that no more than two elements are entered - e.g. house number and street, house number and postcode, house name and postcode or house name and town.
As the council's Land and Property Gazetteer was compiled from several sources there may be spelling, punctuation or spacing errors in house names so please also try using the first few letters of the name and a wildcard (*). For example, Tigh* will find Tigh Na Mara, Tighnamara and Tigh-na-Mara. If you have any problems locating an address or you consider there is an error in your address please e-mail Street Naming and Numbering with details of the problem.
